Griffith Park Hike – Friday @ 6:00 PM
July 30, 2021 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pmFree
What to expect:
The distance is approximately four to six miles roundtrip. The elevation gain is about eight hundred feet. This isn’t recommended for beginners or people out of shape. This is a moderate hike. If you get separated from us, call the Ranger Station at (323) 913-4688. Please tell the hike leader if you leave early. That way we know you are safe. We may join other hiking groups occasionally. Some people might be wearing skams. People are welcome to share information and encourage others to take off their skams in a kind and considerate way. Everyone must be treated with dignity and respect.
Potluck dinner at the top:
About once a month, we will join the Los Angeles Hiking Group. It is a Meetup group. We will hike together. Occasionally, with dignity and respect, we can educate those wearing skams as to the dangers of doing so to encourage them to remove their skams. We will have a potluck dinner at the top. A potluck dinner at the top hike will always have the words “Potluck Dinner at the Top” in the event title.

What to bring:
Shoes or hiking boots with good traction and water. If you bring a flashlight, red, green, and blue lights are preferred. All lights can be used if they are kept away from people’s eyes. At “Potluck Dinner at the Top” hikes, bring your favorite food item, dish, or drink to share.
We meet at the “Park Ranger Headquarters” / “Griffith Park Visitor Center” sign. The cross streets are Crystal Springs Dr. and Fire Rd. It is across the street from the merry-go-round and tennis courts. There’s a stop sign at the intersection. GPS apps like google maps or apple maps may not be precise. Click the “Google Map” link below for reference. We will wait approximately 15 minutes and start the hike at 6:15 PM. There is free parking in the back parking lot. Rain cancels this event.
